This weekend’s ride
The 8th annual Hancock Flat 50 is the largest yet! We want to give you some information ahead of time to help you plan. Look for additional emails next week as we continue to refine details to ensure everyone a safe, fun ride.
Construction Alert:
There is ongoing construction on I-70. If you are coming from west of Greenfield on I70 please be aware that exit 104 (the Greenfield exit to SR9) is currently closed. It MAY be open again by this weekend, but there are signs at Post Rd. and Mt. Comfort Rd exits indicating the closure. If it remains closed you would need to exit at Mt. Comfort Rd. and use 200N, 100N, or US 40 to continue east to Greenfield.
The entrance ramp to I-70 eastbound is also currently closed at SR9, so those leaving Greenfield and heading east will need to backtrack to Mt. Comfort Rd. or go east to 109 to get on I70 eastbound.
There is a new Riley Trail under construction around downtown Greenfield which has some significant sidewalk and road work going on. The main area that will impact our ride is directly in front of and on the east side of Family Bike Chain. It looks like it is closed off but you CAN access the entrance to the store. The street parking right in front of the store is blocked, but you can go a little further east, or use the Christian Church parking lot directly across the street, or the diagonal parking on American Legion Place, or East St.
Packet Pick- up/Check- in:
We currently have 1,050 riders registered, so please be patient with the volunteers checking you in, and if possible, consider coming Friday. If you do plan to check- in on Saturday, please come early.

Our VIP parking is sold out. There is a map on our Event Guide page which indicates public parking areas around the start/finish line. The is NO Parking in the Lincoln Square Pancake House lot- they are open for business on Saturday. We have already identified two additional areas where parking is permitted and it would be an easy ride into the start/finish:
Hancock Regional Hospital - 801 N. State St.
The Community Foundation of Hancock County - 971 W. US Highway 40 (there is a large lot behind the building with direct access to the Pennsy Trail to ride into the start/finish area
Route change:
Due to a bridge under construction, the 50 mile route has been slightly altered from previous years. The current route will have riders continue south on 600E to turn east on 200S rather than turning on 100S as in previous years. Routes are available to view on our website.

The are many major hotel brands near the intersection of I70 and SR9.
